Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE 16 JULY 2026 · LAST UPDATED 16 JULY 2026 · PRICENEST 1.0.0

THE SHORT VERSION

Pricenest collects nothing. There is no account, no server and no analytics. Everything you enter stays on your device, and your price history is encrypted there. The app's one permission (INTERNET) exists only to open this page.

01 Organization Information

Pricenest ("the app") is published and maintained by the organization below. This policy explains what the app does with your information — which, in short, is keep it on your device.

Publisher[DEVELOPER_NAME]
AccountGoogle Play organization (company) account
AppPricenest — com.pricenest.pricenest
RoleData controller for the purposes of GDPR — noting that no personal data is ever transmitted to us

02 Data Collection

We do not collect any data. Pricenest has no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers and no tracking of any kind. We do not receive your items, your prices, your shops, your settings, your device identifiers, your location or your IP address.

The information you type into Pricenest — the things you buy, what you paid, which shop, your notes, tags and targets — is created by you, stored by you, on your own device. It is never uploaded anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to go.

03 Data Usage

Everything the app computes is computed on your device, from data already on your device:

  • Unit prices (per kg / litre / item) are derived from the price and pack size you enter.
  • Best, typical (median) and latest prices, and price trends, come from your own entries.
  • Insights, charts, streaks, goals and achievements are calculated locally each time you open them.
  • Your shopping-list total is estimated from the prices you logged.

None of this leaves the app. No processing happens on a server, because there is no server.

04 Data Sharing

We share nothing with anyone. No data is sold, rented, disclosed or transferred to third parties, advertisers, data brokers, affiliates or analytics providers.

The one exception is entirely under your control: when you use Settings → Export, the app writes a JSON or CSV file and hands it to your device's share sheet. You choose the destination — an email to yourself, a file manager, a cloud drive. Pricenest does not choose it, does not see it, and does not send anything on its own.

05 Data Security

Your data is stored locally using two mechanisms:

  • Hive (local database) — items, shops and shopping list. Your price history is stored in an encrypted box using AES-256 (CBC with PKCS7 padding), because your purchase history is personal.
  • flutter_secure_storage — app settings and the encryption key, held in the Android Keystore-backed secure storage provided by the operating system.

Because nothing is transmitted, there is no data in transit to intercept and no server-side database to breach. The security of the data therefore rests on the security of your device: a screen lock and up-to-date Android are the meaningful protections, and we recommend both.

06 Data Retention

Your data stays on your device for exactly as long as you want it to. We retain nothing, because we never receive anything.

  • Uninstalling the app deletes all of it permanently.
  • Settings → Clear all data removes every item, price and list line immediately.
  • Exports you made are yours; they live wherever you sent them and are outside the app's control.

There is no backup on our side and no way for us to restore your data. If it matters to you, export a copy.

07 No User Accounts

Pricenest has no sign-up, no sign-in, no profile and no password. You cannot create an account because the app does not have accounts. It follows that there is no email address, username or credential associated with you anywhere in the system.

08 Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Pricenest is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children. It is not a "Designed for Families" app.

That said, the app collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. There is no data collection to which a parent could object and nothing for us to delete on request, because nothing ever reaches us. This satisfies COPPA by construction rather than by policy.

09 User Rights

Because your data never leaves your device, you exercise every data right directly, immediately, and without asking us:

RightHow you exercise it
AccessOpen the app — it is all visible
PortabilitySettings → Export (JSON or CSV)
RectificationEdit any item or price directly
ErasureSettings → Clear all data, or uninstall
Object / restrictNo processing takes place off-device
Withdraw consentUninstall the app

We cannot action a data request on your behalf, because we hold no copy of your data.

10 No Third-Party Services

Pricenest integrates no third-party SDKs: no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no advertising network, no crash reporter, no attribution or A/B-testing service, no social login.

The app is built with Flutter and uses open-source packages (Hive CE, flutter_secure_storage, fl_chart, go_router, webview_flutter, share_plus, file_picker) purely as on-device libraries. None of them phones home on the app's behalf. Fonts are bundled into the app rather than fetched, so even the typography needs no network request.

11 Permissions

Pricenest declares exactly one Android permission.

PermissionWhy
INTERNETTo load this privacy policy page in the in-app viewer (Settings → Privacy policy). That is its only use.

Pricenest requests no camera, location, contacts, microphone, storage or notification permission. Exports use the system share sheet and backups use the app's own private folder, neither of which requires a storage permission. Reminders are an in-app "Today" list, not push notifications — which is why no notification permission is needed.

12 Google Play Data Safety

Our Play Console Data Safety declaration states: no data collected, no data shared. This is accurate and complete.

Version1.0 — applies to Pricenest 1.0.0 and later

If this policy ever changes materially, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new date, and the change will be described in the app's release notes. 14 Contact

Questions about this policy, or about privacy in Pricenest, go to a person, not a form:

Please note we cannot retrieve, restore or delete your in-app data for you — we have no access to it. Those actions are yours alone, inside the app.

15 Legal

GDPR (EU/EEA/UK). Pricenest processes no personal data outside your own device, so there is no transfer, no international transfer mechanism, no profiling and no automated decision-making. The lawful basis question does not arise for data we never receive. Your rights under Articles 15–22 are exercisable directly in the app (see section 9).

CCPA / CPRA (California). We do not collect, sell or share personal information as those terms are defined. California residents have nothing to opt out of, and we operate no "Do Not Sell or Share" mechanism because there is no sale or sharing to stop.

Other jurisdictions. The same holds for equivalent laws elsewhere (e.g. PIPEDA, LGPD, POPIA): an app that transmits no data cannot misuse it.

Disclaimer. Pricenest is a personal record-keeping and arithmetic tool. The prices, trends and verdicts it shows are derived solely from the data you enter, and are only as accurate as that data. It is not financial advice and makes no guarantee of savings.

Governing terms. This policy is published by [DEVELOPER_NAME] as the app's publisher on Google Play and should be read alongside the Google Play Terms of Service.
